Tanushree Dutta was dropped and raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand land (then Bihar), and did her graduation in subject in Pune, Maharashtra.

She won the Femina Miss Bharat denomination in 2004, and settled among the top decade in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant held in Quito, Ecuador.She debuted in Bollywood in 2005.
